We are looking for any of the areas of nonfiction:

-nonfiction -creative nonfiction -memoir -essay collections (all forms including lyrical) -hybrid (nonfiction, fiction, poetry blends, as long as nonfiction is the driving genre)

Your work can be in book form, or as a collection of essays or short pieces. There is no page limit, as long as the book is more than 30 pages.

When we say "spiritual," we don't want to limit your thinking, but here are some general topics to get your started:

-spiritual ecology -spiritual self-development -energy work -psychic abilities -mysticism -the occult (tarot, diving etc)

Basically we are looking for memoirs about your spiritual journey, or about how others can develop spiritual gifts, or anything in between.

In terms of authors, think:

  • Carolyn Myss

  • Martha Beck

  • Wayne Dyer

  • Anita Moorjani

  • Clarissa Pinkola Estes

  • Oriah Mountain Dreamer

  • Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

  • Father Richard Rohr

  • Shakti Gawain

  • Cheryl Richardson

  • Sandra Ingerman

  • Louise Hay

  • Shauna Niequist

  • Byron Katie

  • Julia Cameron

  • Gary Zukav

and so many more. This list is not meant to limit, only to inspire.

And of course many other topics in the realm of the mystical and spiritually healing. And any approach: teaching, memoir, lyrical essay, and hybrid combinations. Whatever brings forth your truest voice and strongest narrative.

If you aren't sure if your topic fits, please feel free to email Nina Alvarez at
